What a week!

Let me tell you about my amazing week!

I am sitting on my computer Monday morning drinking my coffee, looking up jobs to apply to in NY when I get an email from the Obama Campaign. Barack is coming to SPRINGFIELD! Yes......Springfield, Missouri. So I immediately get on the phone and call a couple people I have volunteered with at the Obama office in town. Nobody is answering their phones. Then I think, well if they just made the announcement today, and tickets are available at 6:00 pm tonight I will just run into the office and help out until it's time to get in line. I mean, I want to be the first to get a ticket.

I run into town (so country huh!) to the office. Staff greets me and I said I was there to help. Well, they definitely needed help. I have spent the last four days organizing and trying to assist the staff for the visit. Wednesday finally comes. I am up a 5:30ish so excited! I am assigned to the will call table. Now understand, people have been camped out all night to get good seats. We get everyone in and moments later he begins his address. I walk in to be abruptly stopped by the Secret Service wall and ushered into the overflow room. I have to admit it was frustrating to work so hard and then not be able to make it in to see him, but I'm a team player. A staff saw me against the wall and within minutes I am rushed into the gymnasium where I get to see him speak. So yes, you can rest easily tonight, I DID get to see Sen. Barack Obama, Presidential Candidate, speak.

Overall, it was just an awesome experience to see the response from Southwest Missouri. It truly does give hope!
