Life in the Fast Lane

I need to use today as my confessional. I'm not Catholic, but it's still liberating to let some things off your chest.

1. My gyms workouts are going well. I missed a couple of days and today it has snowed about 5 inches so far and the wind is up to 40mph gusts, so it's unlikely my chicken ass is walking the 7 blocks to the gym. I do feel better about myself. I had worked so hard to lose the weight last time and then I let myself go again. I am not back as big as I was before but I still need to drop about 15-20 to be back in the game. I am confident I can do it again.

2. I haven't been the nicest person to be around lately. This one is mainly for Kyle. I know exactly what it is. I need a break. I need a break from NYC, I need a break from Kyle, I need to go home and visit my friends, have a beer, make some memories and talk about old times. At first, I felt guilty about wanting this. Living with someone has made me realize this is the essence of sanity, mini-personal vacations. I'm sure he needs me to leave as much as I need to go. lol

3. My job hunt, T-Mobile is a GREAT company to work for. They have amazing insurance and benefits, but it's just not for me. There is no passion for me about selling someone a cell phone they may not be able to afford. It's not the same as helping a teen fill out job applications, or helping a family how to manage their finances, or seeing a child do their homework every day and then bring home a higher grade on their report card. These were daily times working with kids in non-profits and I deeply miss that interaction and impact. I had a job interview a couple weeks ago, then a second interview a week ago Friday. It's been a week and my references haven't been checked so at this point I'm assuming they went a different route. So back to the drawing board again!

So as I read over this, I see some good things. I have a huge desire to be happier, healthier and I've become much more wiser.

And FYI that pic of the statue is from my house. Yes directly the view from my house, so for that I AM thankful!
