Dakota's coming to story

So I have clearly become one of "those" dog owners who posts their pics on facebook. I figured I should probably tell you how he came to us.

I responded to a craigslist ad about a dachshund for adoption. We emailed back and forth. She said she took a trip to Georgia and saw him at a shelter. He was just skin and bones. He was a stray and was on the kill list for the morning. Her being a dog lover she couldn't let that happen so she paid the $50 to get him out and took him in.

So I made an appointment to meet him last Saturday. Mind you she lives in Edgewater, New Jersey. For those non-New Yorkers, Manhattan is easy to get around in. Brooklyn isn't as easy but just fine. Jersey is a whole other story. It took me 3 trains and bus ride to get there. After 1.5 hours of travel it was love at first site. He ran right up to me and started giving me kisses. We played and everything was fine. So we brought him home. She only had him a week so all he has is his rabies shot, but that's fine with us.

How can anyone do this to any pet? At least he has a good home now.
