A big possibility today

So Governor Patterson is pushing the NY State Senate to put a vote on legalizing same sex marriage today. There's still a good chance it won't even come to a vote, but it's still out there.

As I was reading about it online, I ran across some opposition websites. I have to admit I used to read these website to get fired up. A lot of times they are simply emotional based and typically uneducated people stating things such as "Gays will ruin the sanctity of marriage" or "GOD made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve". I am fortunate to be one of those people who is maturing with age. Sure, I have an inner child and I enjoy life itself but stuff like this doesn't fuel the fire anymore.

I think the same sex advocates are going at this completely wrong, similar to government. Let me break it down for you.... If the President wants something to pass Congress he needs a majority vote. If he's a few votes shy what does he do? He finds those fence riders and offers them something if he gets their vote. Simply put he buys them off. He's not the only one all of Congress does this. BUT if he needs a lot of votes what does he do? He goes to the people...the voters and asks for help.

Who is against same sex marriage? Churches and African Americans. So since these two are our main targets why do we hit the streets of NY per say the Chelsea area. I see people on the street asking for support all the time in these area. It's great, but it's time we grow a pair and step up to the game. Thank you Gov. Patterson for pushing NY in a new direction! I hope that at the end of this day New York has stood up and said, "Everyone should have the same rights!"
